Indian-American Aruna Miller expected to be Maryland's next lieutenant governor

Miller has previously made unsuccessful bids for the party nomination to the US Congress in 2017 and has served two terms in the Maryland General Assembly.

Aruna Miller, an Indian American and former member of the Maryland House of delegates, is expected to win the election for Maryland's lieutenant governor. She will become the first Indian-American lieutenant governor of a US state if she gets elected to this position.

The former CEO of Robin Hood Foundation, she is also Wes Moore - the winner of the Democratic primary for governor of Maryland’s running mate.  Moore has defeated Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot and former Labour Secretary and DNC Chairman Tom Perez in the race for the nomination.
