Rajani LaRocca, an Indian-American children's books author and primary care physician, has been named runner-up for the Newbery Honor Medal for Children's Literature for her book 'Red, White, and Whole'.
"Over the moon that Red, White, and Whole has won a Newbery Honor! I'm so grateful to the Newbery Committee and American library Association for choosing this book of my heart. Thank you for believing in this story," said Rajani.
