Indian American directs recent episode of Ms Marvel, says she could relate to Kamala

Meera Menon is highly known for her directing work on The Walking Dead and Outlander. She worked on several other series, directing one or two episodes before landing Ms. Marvel.

Marvel Studios has assembled a fantastic team of directors to lead the new series called Ms. Marvel, including Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon, two-time Oscar winners in the category of documentary shorts, as well as the great duo, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

Meera menon, an Indian American helmed episode 2 and 3 of the series. She mentioned at an event to variety that she was able to relate to the character as being a kid of south Asian immigrants, growing up in jersey who felt “caught between worlds” just like Kamala, Ms. Marvel.
