Tutored by Teachers, an ed-tech startup founded by Shaan Akbar and Rahul Kalita announced Feb. 24 that it has raised US$10 million in Series A funding, which allows the organization to expand its program with the aim of serving 10,000 high-need kids in kindergarten through 12th grade.
The funding round was led by GSV Ventures, which invests primarily in the US$7 trillion education technology sector. "GSV is proud to be partnering with Shaan and Rahul, world-class entrepreneurs, childhood friends and co-founders at TbT,” said Deborah Quazzo, Managing Partner at GSV Ventures.
