Indian American Romesh Wadhwani receives his Padma Shri in San Francisco

Wadhwani requested that his award be given to him in San Francisco through the Consul General, as he was unable to travel to India amid the pandemic.

Indian American Entrepreneur Romesh Wadhwani received his long-awaited Padma Shri award on Tuesday in the Indian Consulate in San Francisco. He was given the honor by the Indian Government in 2020.

The award, usually presented by the President of India in a ceremonial function at Rashtrapati Bhavan, was presented to Wadhwani by the Consul General of India in San Francisco, TV Nagendra Prasad. The event was attended by esteemed Indian American business enthusiasts, including Shantanu Narayen, 2019 Padma Shri awardee and chairman and CEO of Adobe.
