Indian American Sonal Shah appointed to Homeland security advisory council

Shah has been appointed to the council due to her expertise in leading and launching several social impact initiatives in both the public and private sectors

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the appointment of 33 new members to its advisory council including Indian American member Sonal Shah. The council was formed to strengthen and aid the department’s programs.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas said while making the announcement, “These distinguished leaders have agreed to serve our country as members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council at a critically important time not only for the nation, but also for the world,” adding “Our Department is privileged to benefit from the experience, vision, and creativity of these incredibly accomplished individuals.”
