Indian American student wins US$250K in college quiz contest
Four of the students competing against Jaskaran Singh this time were of Indian descent, while one was of Sri Lankan origin.
Indian-American, Jaskaran Singh has won the National College Championship Jeopardy, the premier quiz tournament for students, with a reward of US$250,000.
The 22-year-old Sikh student from the University of Texas in Austin beat 35 other students to wine the prize. The 35 were selected from a group of 26,000 students who fought for a spot on the tournament that lasted two weeks.
