Indian Americans outraged over US state assembly's open support for Khalistan

Indian Americans have sparked resentment toward a citation published by the general assembly of the US state of Connecticut commemorating the "declaration of Sikh independence."

In a citation, the Connecticut general assembly congratulated the pro-Khalistan organization World Sikh Parliament "in recognition of the 36th anniversary of the declaration of Sikh independence" in an official citation.

The Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) has asked Connecticut State Senators and Assembly Representatives to withdraw their support for the citation.
