Indian contingent for Burmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 sent off
IOA secretary general Rajeev Mehta announced that the CWG gold medalist would be awarded Rs 20 lakh, the silver medalist would receive Rs 10 lakh, and the bronze medalist would receive Rs 7.5 lakh.

On June 7, India announced a 215-member athlete contingent across 16 disciplines for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) beginning on July 28 in Birmingham.

On the sidelines of the send-off ceremony for the CWG-bound athletes, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) acting president Anil Khanna referred to it as a 'gender-neutral contingent' with 108 men and 107 women being part of the touring party.
