According to the report, once a victim granted such access, the fraudsters accessed their personal information including bank and credit card information.

A 27-year-old Indian national living illegally in Houston has pled guilty to accusations of participating in a nationwide tech support refund scam. Sumit Kumar Singh, who acknowledged being a part of a fraud ring that operated out of numerous cities, including Houston, from 2018 to 2020, faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a potential fine of US$ 250,000.

The date of his sentencing has been set for December 20. And will be in custody till then.
