The British novelist is nominated for his novel ‘China Room’ that is loosely based on the story of his Indian ancestor

The Booker prize for fiction is a prestigious award given annually to authors for novels written in English and published in the United Kingdom or Ireland. This year a total of 13 authors have been finalized as the contenders for the prize from a lot of 158 novels.

Sunjeev Sahota an Indian origin British novelist is included in the list along with Nobel laureate Kazuo Ishiguro and Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Powers. This is his second Booker prize nomination after the one in 2015 for his novel ‘The Year of the Runaways’.
