Indian-origin professor’s team in Essex creates AI app that extends smartphone battery life

The software application uses AI to optimise chip performance, heat generation and efficiency

The University of Essex recently displayed a new artificial intelligence (AI) app called EOptomizer that boosts smartphone battery life by 30 percent. The research team was led by Indian-origin professor Dr. Amit Singh, from Essex’s School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering.

Speaking of the project, Singh who graduated from IIT Dhanbad said, “It is our hope that this app will help make everyone’s life better, save them money and help save the environment.”
