Indian origin teens win top prizes in science competition

The winners of the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF), the world's largest international high school competition, which was held in Atlanta from May 8 to 13, were recently announced.

Rishab Jain, 17, was one of the top two recipients of the US$50,000 Regeneron Young Scientist Award. Using synthetic DNA engineering, he created an AI-based approach that allows for the quick and cost-effective manufacture of pharmaceuticals such as recombinant COVID-19 vaccines.
