The final look of the tapes as a product.

Kavya Jain, a 21-year-old Indian student in the UK has designed textured tapes to help the visually impaired have a better sense of direction, as a part of her final project for Nottingham Trent University.

Jain used EV foam to come up with different tactile patterned tapes which she named ‘Sensei’ to lead to particular facilities as part of her college Product Design project.

She is developing her patent idea in Britain and plans to install them in shopping malls, stadiums and other public places by the end of this year. Jain confirmed that she is talking to many organizations but is yet to give a statement.
