India’s commerce and industry minister, Piyush Goyal, made a pit-stop at London before returning from the World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday, May 26.

He assessed the situation in the Kingdom ahead of the fourth round of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks, which will take place in the UK on June 13.

In a bilateral meeting with UK’s secretary of state, Anne-Marie, Goyal said, “FTA between India and the United Kingdom could be ready by Diwali without the need for an interim early harvest agreement, based on how things are going between the two negotiating teams.”
