India’s first Monkeypox case reported from Kerala

The Centre has sent high level multi-disciplinary team to Kerala for supporting the State investigating the Monkey Pox outbreak.

India recorded its first Monkeypox case after a 35 year-old man who came from UAE a few days ago was  admitted to Thiruvananthapuram medical college in Kerala and was found positive for the disease.

Kerala’s Health Minister, Veena George informed that the patient a resident of Kollam, has come in contact with his family, a taxi driver and an auto driver along with 11 people on the flight from UAE to Thiruvananthapuram.
