India’s first open rock museum inaugurated in Hyderabad

The central government will be establishing 75 science museums across the nation to promote scientific temper amongst the younger generation.

The center will establish 75 science museums across the country to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, announced Jitendera Singh, the Union Minister of State for science and technology.

Dr. Singh inaugurated India’s first open rock museum on the CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) campus on Thursday. The open museum displayed various kinds of rocks collected from different states with ages ranging from 3.3 billion years to around 55 million years of the Earth’s history.
