Indian Premier League (IPL) founder Lalit Modi has been served a notice by the High Court in London seeking damages amounting to millions of dollars over alleged deceit and breach of contract by a former Indian model-turned-investor, Gurpreet Gill Maag.

Judge Murray Rosen QC is presiding over the trial, which opened in the Chancery Division this week, to determine whether Modi made false representations to secure investment for a worldwide cancer treatment project dating back to April 2018.
