Lens view: US Chief of Naval Operations visits India.

India and US have attained the ‘Defence Partner Status’ after the accord in Jun 16 2021 which comes as an upgrade to the existing mutual trust and confidence between the countries.

Adm Michael Gilday, Chief of Naval Operations, US Navy is on a five-day official visit to India, from 11-15 Oct 21. Gilday during his visit will be meeting Adm Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff, in addition to other high ranking government officials.

He will also be visiting Indian Navy’s Western Naval Command (at Mumbai) and Eastern Naval Command (at Visakhapatnam). Admiral Gilday is also scheduled to embark the USN Carrier Strike Group off the East Coast of India along with an Indian delegation.
