Local Piscataway cricket pitch named after late Indian American activist

Jay Mody will be remembered for organising the first India day parade in Piscataway

Indian American civic leader, Jaswant "Jay" Bhailal Mody will be honored on Sunday, May 15, with a new cricket pitch at Quibbletown Park in Piscataway being named after him. He was  a resident of Piscataway for almost 5 decades.

Jay, who passed away last year at the age of 83, was a beloved Township citizen and South Asian trailblazer. He spent his life serving the Indian community and was recognized by the Association of Indians in America, who presented him a lifetime service award.
