Twitter Inc. announced on Monday that it will become a private company owned wholly by Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, for US$44 Billion. The deal is being hailed as one of the biggest business deals of all time.

As per the terms of the agreement Twitter’s current shareholders will be receiving IS$54.20 in cash for each share of Twitter common stock that they own. The price being offered is at a 38 percent premium to Twitter’s closing stock price on April 1, 2022.
