Norway brewery takes off Lord Ganesha label after protest

A Norway-based brewery has apologized and withdrawn its beer label displaying picture of Lord Ganesha after Hindus in America registered protest calling it ‘highly inappropriate’.

In Hindu religion, Lord Ganesha is revered as the god of wisdom and remover of obstacles, and is worshipped universally in temples or home shrines.

Kurt Haugen, Owner of Holmentoppen Bryggerhus, said the company was made aware and immediately removed the label from the portfolio.
