The Ohio State Senate honored Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's ‘The Kashmir Files’ with a citation. The film, released on March 11, is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the 1990 insurgency.

The citation reads, "The writer and director of The Kashmir Files, you are deserving of high praise for you have a special gift that has, no doubt, brought joy to those with whom you have shared your talents." Sen. Matt Huffman, president of the Ohio Senate, and State Sen. Niraj Atani jointly signed the citation. Atani is the state of Ohio's first Indian American and Hindu American state senator in Ohio history.
