COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Delhi, with around 20000 fresh cases registered on Saturday, fueled primarily by the Omicron variety. According to data from the Delhi Health Department, none of the confirmed Omicron cases have required oxygen or ventilator support, nor have they been admitted to the ICU.
As a result, temporary hospitals are being prepared as the number of cases increases. A high-tech Covid Centre has been built at the Commonwealth Games Village in East Delhi. The improvised hospital has 436 beds, 210 of which are outfitted with oxygen. The center is open to the public and free of charge.
