Oriental Museum in Durham displays Rajasthani art

While miniature painting originated in Persia, it was bought to India during the Mughal rule in the 16th century CE.

The Oriental Museum at Durham University, UK will hold an exhibition titled, 'Tradition and transformation: contemporary Indian miniature painting from Rajasthan’ from May 27, 2022 to Sept. 18, 2022.

The exhibition will display the works of a group of contemporary miniature painters working in Udaipur, Rajasthan, which were donated to the museum by Simon Fleming.
