Pakistani Literary Society posthumously bestows Sidhu Moosewala with "Waris Shah International Award"

Ilyas Ghumman, a Pakistani writer who serves as the Waris Shah International Award Committee's president, posted a photo of a group of Punjabi writers and musicians honouring Sidhu with the coveted award on Twitter.

The late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala received a posthumous "Waris Shah International Award" in Pakistan on Sunday. The award went to Sidhu by the literary organisation "Punjabi Virsa" from Pakistan, together with the poet Surjit Singh Patar and the writer Harjinder Pal Jinder.

The award is usually granted to writers and literary artists who promote Punjabi culture. Sidhu became the first singer to receive this honour.
