Photo feature: India prepares for Republic Day 2022
In New Delhi on historic Rajpath, which descends from the Presidential Palace on Raisina hills to iconic India Gate a war memorial to 90,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who died in between 1914-1921 in the First World War, will see the display of India's military prowess on Republic Day

The Delhi Republic Day parade is the largest and most important of India's Republic Day celebrations. Every year on Jan. 26, the parade takes place on Rajpath in New Delhi. It is the major attraction of India's three-day Republic Day celebrations. The first parade took place in 1950, and it has taken place every year thereafter.
The parade marches down the Rajpath from the Rashtrapati Bhawan to India Gate and then to the Red Fort. It begins with the President of India raising the national flag. This is followed by marching bands from various Army, Navy, and Air Force regiments. Tableaus representing the cultures of many states are shown. The parade comes to an end with a beating retreat ceremony.

India is all geared up to celebrate its 73rd Republic Day celebration this year. Republic Day marks an important event in India's history. 26th January function in New Delhi will be attended by President Ramnath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and foreign dignitaries. There will be a display of its armed and paramilitary forces marching contingents with bands on the historic Rajpath.
Regarding the Republic Day Celebrations 2022, there will be a full dress parade rehearsal on Jan. 23, 2022, which will start at 9.50 AM on Jan. 23 from Vijay Chowk and proceed to National Stadium.
