Piyush Goyal, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, launched a ‘Mango Festival’ in Brussels on June 17 to create awareness among Europeans and build a market for Indian mangoes in Europe. India is a major exporter of mangoes, although the majority of them are shipped to the Middle East compared to Europe.

The event drew a large number of Europeans and Indians, including agricultural diplomats, entrepreneurs, and commoners. Santosh Jha, India's ambassador to Belgium, and Smita Sirohi, Adviser, Agriculture & Marine Products at the Indian Embassy, remarked about the potential of Indian mangoes in Europe.
