PM Narendra Modi’s UAE visit postponed as Covid cases spike

During his trip Modi was scheduled to visit the India Pavillion at the Dubai Expo to sign the India-UAE Free trade agreement. However, the organizers have warned that some venues at the Expo may shut down due to the coronavirus scare.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that was scheduled for Jan. 6 has been postponed owing to the rising Covid and Omicron cases in the gulf nation.

Modi was expected to meet with UAE's top leadership as his visit was timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the UAE in 2022.
