Poonawalla Family donates £50 million to Oxford University
The Serum Institute of India has pledged £50 million funding for vaccine research building at Oxford University.

The Poonawala family, the Pune-based owners of the Serum Institute of India has pledged £50 million (US$66.2 million) for establishing The Poonawalla Vaccines Research Building at the University of Oxford.
The donation will be used to construct the research building at university’s old campus road. It will share infrastructure and support facilities for scientific research and academic teaching with the recently announced Oxford University Pandemic Sciences Centre. They intend to function together to contribute majorly to the global preparedness and responsiveness to the pandemic.
