US President Joe Biden announced his intent to appoint Indian-origin soil scientist and Padma Shri awardee Dr. Rattan Lal as a member of the Board for International Food and Agricultural Development (BIFAD).
The Board for International Food and Agricultural Development (BIFAD) advises the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on issues pertinent to agriculture, food security and Higher education on developing countries.
