Every year, Nov. 21 is observed as Armed Forces Day of Bangladesh. The day signifies a major event of 1971 when the members of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air force were united and launched an operation against Pakistan occupation forces. Another major significance of this year is the Battle of Garibpur which witnessed the Indian and Bangladeshi liberation forces uniting against Pakistani forces.
