Indian American Congressmen Raja Krishnamoorthi called on his colleagues to join him in sending a letter to the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on the importance of addressing the employment-based green card backlog as part of budget reconciliation. The letter, which will be sent in a week, is co-signed by Reps. Kathy Manning and Deborah Ross.

According to the congressman, any package that addresses long-standing immigration concerns must include assistance for the approximately 1.2 million people who are unable to obtain a green card primarily due to country-based discrimination.
