Right to wear turban: Gurpreet Singh's legacy in American Marine Corps

He was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat "V" for valor, posthumously for heroic service in Sangrin District.

A memorial ceremony to remember Cpl. Singh, the first Sikh soldier buried in the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday.

His headstone was etched with a Khada sword to mark Sikh pride and the long-time effort of inclusive military rules.
