Rush 60 mn vaccines to India: Rev Jackson writes to Biden

In an urgent letter addressed to President Joe Biden, eminent civil rights leader Rev Jesse L Jackson called for rushing 60 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to India, which is going through a devastating second wave of pandemic, and also ensure equitable supply to Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra states.

“India is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis of epic proportions caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. I am urging you to ensure that India at the earliest receives at least 60 million of those 80 million vaccines allocated for overseas. It is our bounden duty to protect India now to flatten the COVID19 pandemic there, which will in turn protect America and rest of the world,” Rev Jackson, founder-President of Rainbow Push Coalition, stated in his two-page strongly-worded letter.
