Sanath Jayasurya thanks “big brother” India for helping Sri Lanka
The Indian government has also announced the development of three wind farms in Sri Lanka with a budget of USD 12 billion. These will be in three islands off Jaffna. In order to fight the power shortage, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has decided to release 6,000 MT of diesel to help Sri Lanka.
Sanath Jayasurya, a prominent Srilankan cricketer, thanked India for helping the island nation during their worst economic crisis and said that it is unfortunate that the people are going through this situation.
Jayasurya called India a “big brother” and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sending aid amid the crisis in Sri Lanka. “You know as always as a neighbor, the big brother next to our country has been helping us … We are very grateful to the Indian government and the Prime Minister (Modi),” said the Srilankan Batsman.
