Saree-clad Indian ladies steal the show at UK's Royal Ascot Horse Race

While the obvious motive behind the saree was to showcase and promote Indian culture, the real intention was to honour the work of weavers and makers of the sarees.

Over a 1000 Indian origin women turned heads earlier this week, when they took to the stands of the Royal Ascot Horse Race clad in traditional Indian attire, the saree.

The event that is often attended by the members of the  Royal Family including the Queen has a strict dress code that is typically an English style mid length dress and hats or fascinators.
