Sikh coalition holds Day of Action in Richmond Hill

Richmond Hill, a neighborhood also known as Little Punjab for its sizable population of Sikh and Indian immigrants has witnessed a rise in violent attacks on Sikhs in the recent months.

In light of the rising attacks on members of the Sikh community in Richmond Hill and the surrounding areas in Queens, New York, the Sikh coalition along with 17 other community organizations organized a ‘Day of Action’ in the area.

Throughout the day the volunteers went door to door to spread awareness on how to combat and prevent hate in Richmond Hill, Queens. They distributed flyers, posters, and personal safety equipment that explained the legal and community help that is available for those who experience hate.
