Three Indian Americans, Surjeet Rajendran, L Mahadevan and Amit Sahai, were identified by the Simons Foundation as investigators for mathematics and physical sciences. They were chosen among 16 cohorts.
The Simons Investigators are those theoretical scientists who get a stable base of research support. The foundation supports their long-term research. Every year, the organization receives nominations from various universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland.
