Slumdog Millionaire Author to receive honorary degree from University of Guelph
According to Swarup’s website he wrote Q&A “in two months when he was posted in London” in 2005 at the High commission of India

Vikas Swarup, former Indian diplomat and author of the novel Q&A, which was adopted into the Oscar winning film Slumdog Millionaire, will be awarded an honorary degree by University of Guelph, Ontario on June 16, 2022.

Swarup was recognised by the University for Q&A, his debut novel that managed to win several international awards and was short-listed for the Best First Book by the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize and also for his work as diplomat in strengthening Indo-Canadian relations.
