Sri Lanka seeks India’s help at a time of economic crisis
The Minister was briefed by the High Commissioner on the Government of Sri Lanka's debt halt announcement. He informed her that the Sri Lankan government is attempting to reach an agreement on debt restructuring through negotiation.

Sri Lanka is seeking India's help in obtaining at least US$3 billion in "bridging finance" from the international community ahead of the World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring meetings in Washington next week.
Milinda Moragoda, Sri Lanka's High Commissioner to India, met with Nirmala Sitharaman, India's Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister, in New Delhi to discuss the current state of Indo-Lanka economic cooperation.
