Srinagar joins UNESCO network of creative cities

Jammu and Kashmir convenor Saleem Bag said that Srinagar has been fighting for the past 4 years to find a place in the UNESCO’s prestigious list.

Jammu and Kashmir summer capital, Srinagar has made it to the prestigious list of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) creative cities network (UCCN) for craft and folk art.

“Great news for Srinagar. Srinagar has been inscribed as a UNESCO creative city of art and craft, the only city from India to make it to the list,” said Mayor of Srinagar Junaid Mattoo.
