The Governor of Texas, U.S. Greg Abbott issued a proclamation honoring the 75 years of Indian independence, which will be celebrated on Sunday, Aug. 15. He signed the document in the presence of the Consul General of India, Aseem Mahajan at an early celebration of the Indian Independence Day.

His proclamation stated that the Governor’s house will be lit up in colors of the Indian flag on Sunday to commemorate the occasion.
