Indian American attorney Ramya Kasthuri appointed to the Board of Education in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. Kasthuri was appointed in June to fill a vacancy left by the death of Helen Kirsch, a long-serving former committee member.

She will serve on the board until Dec. 2021, when it will be filled by candidates elected by voters in the Nov. elections. Kasthuri ran for the board of directors in 2020 and finished fourth out of five candidates with 1,920 votes.
