The UK Trade Minister to initiate negotiations for a free-trade agreement

According to the UK government, a trade deal could help boost this even more, and it will play a key role in the country's goal of doubling trade with India by 2030.

The UK government on Sunday announced that Anne-Marie Trevelyan, the Secretary of State for International Trade, will begin free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations during a visit to New Delhi beginning on Wednesday.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) announced that bilateral talks between Trevelyan and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will take place on Thursday. The two expected to discuss a range of issues, including green trade and the removal of market access barriers for both UK and Indian businesses.
