Three Indian Americans receive The British Academy’s Fellowship
Sukanta Chaudhuri, Pratap Bhanu Meht, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak

Pratap Bhanu Mehta of the Princeton University, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak of Columbia University and Sukanta Chaudhuri of Jadavpur University have been elected as the Corresponding Fellows at The British Academy. In total, the academy has recognized the contributions of 84 new fellows to social science, humanities and arts. The academy announced on July 23, 2021.

Fellowship was rewarded majorly to individuals from UK universities. Around 29 were from the universities located in the U.S., India, Australia, Italy, France, Russia, the Republic of Ireland and others. Julia Black, the president of the British Academy appreciated, “Our new fellows embody the value of their subjects and I congratulate them warmly for their achievement.”
