Three Sikhs who were victims of a mass shooting at an Indianapolis FedEx facility in April are suing the city for compensation, claiming that local authorities neglected to pursue a court hearing that might have stopped the gunman from obtaining the firearms used in the incident.
“The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Marion County Prosecutor's Office failed to follow Indiana's red flag statute when they opted not to file a case with the courts in March 2020 to suspend the shooter's gun rights,” said victims' lawyers.
