Sri Lanka's state-owned investment agency, the Board of Investment (BOI), disclosed this week that the government hopes to attract US$3 billion in foreign direct investment by 2026, and that the BOI has prepared a strategic plan for the years 2022 to 2026.

Long-term visas for prospective investors, according to Namal Rajapaksa, will not only greatly enhance Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), but will also encourage more experts and specialists to invest, work, and live in Sri Lanka.
