UAE bans export of Indian wheat for 4 months

Amid the shortage of wheat supply globally and soaring prices, India is strictly exporting wheat to countries only for their domestic consumption.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a ban on the export of wheat imported from India for a period of four months, a statement from UAE’s Ministry of Economy said.

According to a news release, the ban “applies to all wheat varieties (spelt), namely hard, ordinary, and soft wheat, and wheat flour (spelt flour)” imported from India.
