UK-based ferries accused of hiring cheap labor from India

Agency workers from India have been hired at £1.81-an-hour by P&O Ferries crew in Dover, England, according to the Rail, Maritime and Transport union. The minimum wages for people 23 and above in the UK is £8.91-an-hour.

The large-scale cheap labor recruitment is followed by the firing of P&O’s 800 members of shipping staff, including officers on March 17, 2022.
